Had it not been for people like you who called the hospital to beg them to spare Andrea's life, or who joined us in searching for a new doctor for her, or who stood by us as we walked the picket line, or prayed at Andrea's bedside, our sister not have been allowed to die naturally in her own time. If not for people like you, Mrs. Vo might never have recovered enough to be weaned from the ventilator and go home to live with her family. If it weren't for people like you, 92 year-old Edith Perreira might never have been able to fire the head nurse at her nursing home on her first day back.
It is people like you, who act on their conviction and compassion that save lives and make life better for everyone. That's why we're putting together an email list of volunteers who will be willing to make calls to hospitals or doctors when patients are sentenced by hospital "ethics" committees. The information collected here will be used only for that purpose only.
